Closed strategy session: Countering Anti-Rights Actors in the African Human Rights System
Closed session
Event Description
Across the continent, anti-rights actors are rewriting the rules of engagement embedding
regressive language into treaties, influencing resolutions, and reshaping human rights spaces
from within. It’s time to push back. This high-level strategy session convened by the Initiative
for Strategic Litigation in Africa (ISLA) brings together trailblazers, legal minds, and movement
allies to disrupt the anti-rights playbook. Participants will unpack how these narratives infiltrate
legal frameworks, map the powerful networks driving them, and chart bold collective strategies
to reclaim and protect African human rights spaces.
Please note this is a closed session.
Hosted by The Initiative for Strategic Litigation in Africa.
