Litigants Group meeting

Event description 

The Litigants Group is a coalition of civil society organizations collectively working towards a functional and effective communications procedure before the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, including greater transparency in how the Commission works, greater access to information on the mechanism’s operations, timely finalization of cases, consistent development of jurisprudence and implementation of the decisions and provisional measures of the Commission.

The Litigant’s Group meeting will cover important updates from the steering committee and working groups, a presentation on the Article 59(1) Campaign, the AU Reforms and insights on the Arusha Initiative. This session will also include updates on the Commission’s decisions and provide an opportunity for members to discuss further opportunities for collaboration and engagement to ensure accessibility of the Commission to litigants.
