Introduction to the African system of protection of Human Rights

Event description

The event aims at providing basic information regarding the African system of protection of human rights, its relationship with the African Union organs (including the basic elements of the complex relationship and tensions between the human rights and the political systems), its most important instruments and bodies, as well as practical information and skills for effectively carrying out advocacy before the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

The session, consisting of an interactive presentation, is particularly indicated for human rights defenders with limited or no previous knowledge of the system and are trying to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the regional system of protection of human rights.

Pre-registration for this session is required. Please, note that the session will take place only with a minimum of 10 pre-registered participants
